Rocketmail is now part of the Yahoo Mail system, having been one of the first free web-based email services. Yahoo acquired it in 1997. If you have a Rocketmail account, you can access it by logging into Yahoo Mail with your Rocketmail email address and password. To do this, open a Web browser, go to the Yahoo Mail login page, type your Rocketmail email address and password, and click "Sign In".
Is RocketMail a valid email address?
The mail domain rocketemail.com is not valid. It lacks MX Records, so mails bounce. IPQS found it’s often used for abuse, being temporary and disposable. What account is RocketMail?
Rocketmail.com, which is now Yahoo! Mail, allows IMAP access. This means you can connect to your email from mobile devices and desktop clients. For this, you’ll need IMAP and SMTP settings. This excludes the need for Rocketmail.com’s web interface, allowing email management via programs like Mailspring, Outlook Express, Apple Mail, or Mozilla Thunderbird. Is RocketMail now Yahoo?
In 1997, Yahoo! bought Four11, including RocketMail, for $92 million and merged the RocketMail engine into Yahoo! Mail. RocketMail users had to opt for a Yahoo! ID or use username.RM. They could keep their rocketmail.com address, receiving the same services as Yahoo! users. On 19 June 2008, Yahoo! reopened rocketmail.com for new sign-ups but stopped creating new RocketMail addresses in April 2013. Existing accounts were unaffected.
